Our Mission
The purpose of our program is to foster responsible behavior among Durham's youth, to deter court-referred youth from becoming repeat offenders, and to decrease the dropout rate of students in Durham schools.

For over 26 years, The PROUD Program has been a leader in providing guided growth activities for disconnected youth.
In January 2021, The MLK Steering Committee awarded the PROUD Program with the "Keeping the Dream Alive" Award.
In 2019, The PROUD Program received the Making a Difference Award from Alliance Health for our committed quality care in the Durham Community.
In 2018, The PROUD Program received the Glaxo Impact Award for our exceptional achievements in the community.
​​YOUNG MEN'S PROGRAM
Our signature program for young men ages 13-17 to learn life-skills to encourage responsible behavior and personal leadership.
Offered over a 16-week period with 2 sessions per week with staff mentors.
​​YOUNG WOMEN'S PROGRAM
For young women ages 13-17 to learn life-skills to encourage personal growth and prevent negative choices. This program is offered over a 16-week period with 2 sessions per week with staff mentors.
​ SUMMER
CAMP
An 8-week summer enrichment program that provides cultural, recreational and development activities to children 7-12 years old.
